Compare complete costs to the same root. Then inspect the shared segment.
Y keeps 18: the alternative through X costs 14 + 7 = 21.
No. X advertises 14 and Y advertises 18 toward the same root. A lower bridge ID cannot override a strictly better root-path cost.
Converged paper topology. Y’s independent root path of 18 is summarized, not expanded. Equipment is illustrative.

Only one input changes: X’s receiving cost on the B path rises from 5 to 13.
Through Y: 18 + 7 = 25. X still prefers its direct 20.
No. 18 + 7 = 25, which is more than the direct A path of 20. Root identity and Y’s independent path stay fixed; recompute the actual costs.
D marks the designated endpoint on X–Y. This is a converged teaching topology.
A practical study routine
Use the guide actively: make a decision before checking the answer, then bring the lesson into your next attempt.
Step 1
Name which device, table, or protocol makes the relevant choice.
Step 2
Work through the configuration or route without assuming missing information.
Step 3
Compare the explanation and what would verify the result in a lab.

The ACL example makes the attachment and direction matter alongside rule order. I like following different requests through the entries, because a reasonable-looking rule isn't treated as though it applies everywhere. The example keeps the particular interface in view, which helps explain the permitted path without generalizing the rule to unrelated traffic.
The STP table includes the advertised and local costs before comparing identifiers. The separate explanation of the root path and designated-port choice makes it easier to see why the decisions aren't identical.
The wireless case follows local and central switching to different wired exits. That gives the missing VLAN allowance a concrete location, rather than making every trunk look like something that needs changing.
The API ledger goes beyond whether the JSON parses. I appreciate the separate checks for the target, the Boolean value and the eventual behavior; a valid-looking payload isn't automatically a correct change.
The shortest-path example sits beside a most-specific-route exercise. That's a helpful comparison because finding the topology cost and choosing the route for one packet can otherwise look like the same decision.

This is one English-language PDF download. No physical book is shipped. The page and practice counts shown above refer to the PDF included with this product.
The complete practice bank contains 140 numbered learning activities. Questions and teaching drills are counted as activities, not as full-length exams. The progressive lesson activities are separate from this bank count.
The product is delivered as a digital download associated with your order. Keep your order confirmation. If you have trouble locating or opening your file, contact ExamCrest with your order number.
Yes, with a compatible PDF reader. Save the file for offline reading. The book uses fixed pages, so smaller screens may require zooming; the sample pages show the layout before purchase.
The PDF supports printing. Choose the pages you need and check the scale and margins in your PDF reader. Printing costs and printer supplies are not included.
Selected-topic practice for exam version 1.1. The 140 activities are not a live router lab, complete configuration course, or full-length exam simulation. Check the version offered for your planned test date. No passing result or score increase is guaranteed.
